Orange Roses In the last few weeks we have been learning about Residential schools. We have read several books that share different experiences, learned to sing The Children’s Blessing Song and visited the Residential School Survivors Monument on the corner of West 6th Street and Forbes Avenue. We painted rocks with messages to leave at the monument.
We honour the survivors, we reflect on the inter-generational harm that residential schools have caused Indigenous families and we mourn those who never came back.
In Grade 2 we learn about Phyllis’s Story of her Orange Shirt – check out this YouTube video.
