Our three Grade 2 classes are located on the second floor in a beautiful historic school in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, part of the North Vancouver School District #44.

Our Grade 2 teachers are:

  • Mrs. Cheryl Day  and Ms. Anita Gentile     Division 12 in room 211
  • Ms. Jill McCauley                                            Division 13 in room 210
  • Ms. Jessica Curtis                                           Division 14 in Room 209

Please check our Agendas daily – they should come home everyday, and back to school every morning. This will be our primary home communication tool. We will use it to send home notices and write messages and reminders about upcoming events. Please read it nightly with your child. Occasionally we won’t write in our Agendas, like on the day we hope to go to Science World in January 2023. Usually our messages in our agendas will connect to our inquiry and learning that we are doing in class.

Subscribe to our blog to receive an email notification each time a new post is published. We will post about our learning engagements, our field trips and any other interesting things we want to share with our community.

Supplies and School Fees – Our grade 2 classrooms will use communal supplies which will be purchased by the school to ensure consistent quality and quantity of materials is available for all students at all times.

If you send supplies to be used they will be incorporated into our classroom communal supplies. We encourage our students to cooperatively look after these supplies throughout the school year.

2022 School Fees:  $66 per child for Grades 1-6.

Fees collected cover costs of school supplies (school will purchase), student agendas, and enrichment learning events and activities (see below for fee breakdown)

Note: Fees are optional. As per the NVSD school fees policy, if you would prefer to purchase the necessary supplies yourself, you can do so – if choosing this option please pick up a school supplies list from the office to ensure your child has all items required for the start of the school year.  If opting to purchase school supplies yourselves, you can access the school supplies lists posted under the “parents” tab LINK HERE.

In accordance with NV School Board Policy 706 School Fees, Elementary School Fees are established each spring for the following school year.  All school fee amounts are set at cost-recovery, payable to the school at the beginning of the school year.  Fees for Queen Mary for the 2022-2023 school year are set to recover costs of “consumable” supplies (paper, pencils, erasers, markers, glue, scissors etc.).  All students in Grade 1-6 will also receive an agenda book that includes Queen Mary-specific information. The $20 fee enrichment learning activities provides funds to cover a portion of costs associated with performance groups, workshops, and programs to support our P.E curriculum (e.g. GymSense or Tennis booked for all classes). Please review the following document that explains the Supplemental School Fees:

2022-23 Elem School Fees Queen Mary.pdf

Queen Mary’s fees for 2022 are broken down as follows: Grades 1-6 total $66 per child

School supplies – $40, Agenda – $6, Enrichment learning fee $20
