Teams

We are now online and using Teams to make personal connections with students.

Please check in on Teams every morning to keep updated.

Everybody is using different devices which means the layout appears different for everyone; these are the top 3 things you should know to use Teams effectively.

1. Each class will be setting up regular meetings with their students.  Look at your Calendar to find invitations and click the “Join” button at your scheduled time.

2. Each class has Channels created connecting to different curriculum areas (I.e. Math, Music, Sharing the Planet) We have listed learning engagements and resources under each Channel. In some Channels, like Math and Literacy, there are resources loaded into “Files”.

3. With parental consent students can use the Teams Chat option to make connections with their Grade 2 friends. They can call or chat or video chat people by typing their name in the Search Command bar.

Math

Check the Math Channel and Files for Math worksheets. This week we will upload some Subtraction resources and worksheets. We recognize that not everyone has a printer; you can copy questions onto paper from the screen and answer them.

Good tools for doing addition and subtraction questions: a number line or a rules, a hundreds chart, lego pieces or small object to help with counting and regrouping. Make connections between the concept of addition and subtraction.
